Fridge Poetry 36 - Heaven in flames
Can a child’s innocent heart understand
sacred drunkards who seek angels
and favourite gods,
the word and grace of
every hero with
a hope,
mercy,
even a dream?
What about when heaven is on fire
and love falls flat?
The death of the sun and moon?
Winter upon this world?
No more blooming,
for the life of every man is
the time of a sucker.
Their tender spirits must
dream
love
discover
beam
caress.
Go strongly into the
infinite dark, kid.
Smile at every vulgar tomorrow,
come naked-hearted every day,
and let life come to you.
